TruDi® Sinusitis Treatment in Port Neches, TX
Sinuses are air-filled pockets behind the facial bones surrounding the nose. Each sinus has natural openings through which mucus drains. Sinusitis is an inflammation of the sinus lining often caused by infections and/or blockage of the sinus openings, altering normal drainage.
Pain, Pressure, Fatigue, Congestion, Loss of Smell, are all potential symptoms. Sinusitis affects about 1 in 8 adults in the United States, resulting in over 30 million annual diagnoses. Sinusitis is commonly treated with medical management (i.e. antibiotics and steroids) and when appropriate, surgical options are available.¹
What are the Treatment Options for Sinusitis?
Two surgical options which are available are Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) and/or Balloon Sinuplasty.
What is FESS?
FESS procedures may require the removal of tissue or bone.
What is Balloon Sinuplasty?
Balloon Sinuplasty was a breakthrough procedure introduced in 2005 that has been shown to relieve the pain and pressure associated with chronic sinusitis. It is used by surgeons to safely and effectively treat chronic sinusitis patients. Similar to how angioplasty uses balloons to open blocked arteries, Balloon Sinuplasty, a system of catheter-based instruments, opens blocked sinuses. The procedure is less invasive than traditional sinus surgery. It allows most patients to return to normal activities quickly within 48 Hours.

What is the TruDi® Navigational System?
Real-Time Instrument Tracking
The TruDi® Navigation System is an image-guided navigation system designed for use during intranasal and paranasal FESS or Balloon Sinuplasty procedures.
When using the System, the ENT surgeon can track and display the real-time location of navigated instruments relative to the patient’s CT images during the procedure. Through precise identification of the instrument’s tip location and orientation, this can improve the surgeons’ understanding of the location and orientation of the guidewire or instrument. This may be used with either minimally invasive procedure.
Accurate
The TruDi® Navigation System allows for instrument navigation accuracy that is better than 2mm.
Prior to and During Your Procedure
With a simplified pre-operation and procedural workflow in both the OR and Office environment, we can set up and start your procedure efficiently. Innovative software features designed to transform the procedural experience. With the Beacon and Planning Point features, the surgeon can pre-plan your procedure and mark anatomical boundaries.
The TruDi® Navigation System also offers 3D visualization and Fast Anatomical Mapping (FAM) which can create a digital map of your sinuses.
